PERU: dispatches rise 16.8%
Shipments of cement in the Peruvian market totaled 6,098,738t from January to August 2012, 16.84 per cent more than the same period of 2011 (5,219,828t), the Association of Cement Producers (Asocem) has reported.
During the period cement production was 6,235,813t, representing an increase of 14.62 per cent compared with the same period of 2011, when it was 5,356,112t.
As of August exports totaled 91,834t of cement, reporting an increase of 177.73 per cent over the same period of 2011, when they were of 33,066t.
Total cement dispatches (domestic plus exports) in August totalled 6,190,572t, showing an increase of 17.85 per cent over the same period of 2011, when it totalled 5,252,894t. Cement dispatches in the Peruvian market grew 2.42 percent last year, after standing at 8,294,121t.
