AFRICA: Nigeria: U.S. Firm to Invest $150 Million in Bauchi Cement Factory

Bauchi — United State of America based firm CNC international Miami Florida says it wants to invest $150 million to establish a new cement factory in Bauchi State.

Representative of the company Suraj M Adebisi, said this yesterday when he visited Governor Isa Yuguda in Bauchi.

He said: "The firm had completed all environmental survey on the project and they have discovered enough raw materials and a lot of mineral resources to establish a cement factory that will last for over forty years in the area."


Adebisi said they were in the state to concretize their agreement because government has a 30 percent equity share under the agreement and very soon the company will start sending their equipments and test production of cement will start and it will last for one year.

Responding on behalf of the governor, the state commissioner of Commerce Alhaji Aliyu Yerima Giade said government was ready to collaborate with the company in order to actualize their dream of establishing a new cement factory since the one "we have is situated in Gombe State."

Yerima said establishing the company will help to reduce poverty, unemployment as well as boosting the socio economic activities of the state.
