India's No. 3 cement maker Ambuja Cements Ltd said on Monday despatches and production at its plants in Himachal Pradesh had stopped since October 7, due to a transport strike.
The company, in which Swiss cement maker Holcim holds about 46%, did not give details of the likely financial impact of the strike.
The two plants in Himachal account for about 2.8 million tonnes, or about 13% of the company's total annual capacity of 22 million tonnes.
