MUSCAT - Oman Cement's third clinker kiln commenced trial operations earlier this week, effectively contributing to a doubling of the plant's total clinker capacity to 8,000 tons per day, while raising cement production capacity to 8,500 tons per day. Dr Abdullah Abbas Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Cement Company, led ceremonies marking the start-up of the third clinker kiln, which boasts a design capacity of 4,000 tons per day. Also in attendance were company executives and staff.
The energy-efficient kiln has been built to meet stringent environment specifications. Saturday's launch also coincided with celebrations marking the Sultanate's 40th National Day anniversary.
