INDIA: Himachal Pradesh signs deal with Jaypee Group for setting up Cement Grinding Unit

Shimla: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Himachal Pradesh Government and Jaypee Group for setting up of 2.75 million tonne annual capacity, Clinkerization Unit in village Baga P.O. Kandhar, Tehsil Arki, Solan and 1.5 million tonne capacity Cement Grinding Unit at Malokhar P.O. Chakoh, district Bilaspur with the investment of Rs. 610 crore. These units will generate employment to more than 600 people in the area.

Shri Onkar Sharma, Director, Industries signed MoU on behalf of Himachal Government and Shri Rahul Kumar, Chief Financial Officer on behalf of Jaypee Group in the presence of Shri Kishan Kapoor, Industries Minister.

Shri Kapoor stressed for providing 70 percent employment to Himachali youth in these units. He said that 1.05 percent of the total project cost would be spent on local area development. He asked for ensuring that the units are environment friendly. He said that State Government has given a big boost for industrialization in the State during last two years.

Smt. Harinder Hira, Additional Chief Secretary, representatives of Jaypee Group and senior officers of the State Government were also present on the occasion.
