NEW DELHI: Cement maker Ambuja Cements today reported a 4.97 per cent increase in sales to 17.74 lakh tonnes for the month of February.
The company, in which Swiss major Holcim has the majority stake, sold 16.9 lakh tonnes cement in the same month last year, Ambuja Cements said in a statement.
Production of the building material by the company also went up to 17.91 lakh tonnes during the month from 16.84 lakh tonnes in February 2010.
In January, Ambuja Cements' sales and production were at 18.4 lakh tonnes and 18.44 lakh tonnes, respectively.
