OMAN: Raysut Cement commissions new grinding unit

Oman-based cement producer Raysut Cement Company (RCC) is to commission a new cement grinding unit that will add an additional 750,000 tons of capacity to its Salalah plant.

RCC CEO Mohammed Ahmed Al Dheeb told local reporters that the unit was already undergoing a trial run which, if successful, would raise plant capacity to three million tons annually.

RCC recently acquired Ras Al Khaimah-based Pioneer Cement for $172 million and the new amalgamated company now has a combined output of 4.7 million tons per annum.
