Moroccan group Addoha is reportedly interested in investing some 20 billion FCFA for the construction of a modern cement plant in Abidjan, the AICP said.
Accompanied by the Ambassador of Morocco in Ivory Coast, Faouzy Ahmed, a delegation of Addoha met with the Director General (DG) of the Ivorian Centre Roger Banchi.
The delegation is led by its CEO Saad Sefrioui, who said the funding for the proposed project will be internally generated.
"We came inquiring of the investment climate and above all a search field, preferably in the port area, to start work immediately. We have already made the choice of equipment (...) and it only remains to order, "said the CEO of Addoha.
The Moroccan group is seeking a plot of 10 ha at least for the construction of the plant which will have a production capacity of 500,000 tons of cement per year, expandable to one million tons / year. The group is given 18 months to build the plant, after the signing of the agreement to install with the Ivorian government.
Addoha group also announced its interest in the project to build housing expressed by the government. Its DG stressed that the company is building 100 homes a day in Morocco, can extend its investments in this sector in Ivory Coast, once the cement produced.
